Aspirations
Coming into this year I had several goals and wrote about them but never published. My goals:
- Return to higher education
- Broaden my abilities
- Start saving for the future
- Get in shape
I am now most of the way through a Data Structures class, and loving the content. Way back when I started taking this class and dropped because I did not get it. Since then I have had no additional experience with C, but I think I am understanding the material far better because of general increased maturity and also the amount of database work I have done. Understanding certain database design patterns I really thing has helped me understand pointers.Just before I started moving I bought a number of tech books (Mastering Regular Expressions, Learning Perl, PPK on Javascript) and having been slowly working my way through them. I have been somewhat active on the mysql General Discussion list, and plan to take the CMDEV during the summer, though I am now playing with Postgres…
I have not save much for the future, but I am started.
I am off about 20lb from my peak, and hope to lose another 10lb this year.
Anyways…
